Felix Muniz -- From Prisoner to Pastor

Miguelina Muniz sent this e-mail to Shirley Beatty, Ministry Support Center manager for Prison Fellowship’s ministry in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky:

“My father was released from prison a little over seven years ago. Many years ago you would have found his name listed on one of the “Angel Tree” applications as inmate Felix Muniz followed by his prison ID number and Grafton Correctional Institution [in Ohio]. Today you will find him listed on your application as Reverend Dr. Felix Muniz, pastor the Nueva Luz church. My father truly found Christ in prison, and since his days at Grafton he went on to complete his bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a master’s in Theology, and most recently a Doctoral of Ministry at Ashland Theological Seminary."

“He is the pastor of Nueva Luz Hispanic Church of the Nazarene and is currently building a nonprofit accredited theological seminary school, The Galilean Center, that serves Hispanic-Americans. The Galilean Center is in its first year of operation."
